Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Mike Conley, F Bojan Bogdanovic

Russell Westbrook trades are a dime-a-dozen online. With that said, recent events in Salt Lake City may have provided the Los Angeles Lakers with the most logical trade partner of all.

The Jazz have the veterans the Lakers need. Specifically, swapping Westbrook for Conley at the point guard position swaps a poor fit alongside LeBron James for a perfect one. Conley’s floor-spacing will complement the all-time great, while he also provides secondary ball-handling to lighten his load.

Meanwhile, Bogdanovic is exactly the kind of floor-spacing wing this team was lacking in 2021-22. All told, this deal gives the Los Angeles Lakers better floor balance.

It doesn’t give the Jazz much outside of draft capital. It’s hard to imagine they’ll find a use for Russell Westbrook in 2022-23. Fortunately, his contract is expiring after this season, which is ideal for a rebuilding team like Utah.
