To be clear, Anunoby isn’t the only player in the NBA who might feel that he’s better than his role suggests. In fact, Myles Turner might make the same case.

In fact, Turner once quipped that the Pacers were using him as a “glorified role player”. That’s an apt description, but is Turner really capable of more?

It’s not as easy to picture as it is with Anunoby. That’s not a knock on Turner. He’s an exceedingly valuable player. His ability to space the floor and protect the rim gives him a skillset shared by very few players in the NBA.

Still, it’s hard to imagine Turner, for example, attacking defenses off the dribble. Meanwhile, most NBA teams aren’t looking to run their offense through the low block regularly.
