Miami Heat Receive: F/C Brandon Clarke, 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2025 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: G Tyler Herro

As far as straight-up swaps go, this is the most likely one we could see that lands Tyler Herro with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Miami Heat lost P.J. Tucker to the Philadelphia 76ers this summer. His presence will be missed. With that said, Brandon Clarke is about the best young replacement they could ask for.

Of course, moving Herro to replace Tucker would be a questionable decision. That feels like taking one step forward for the sake of several steps backward. That’s exactly why the Heat are receiving two first-round picks in addition to Clarke.

This deal gives the Heat flexibility. They could use those picks to trade for a star down the line. Alternatively, they avoid locking Herro up on what figures to be a big extension after next season. With some further maneuvering, the Heat could become a player in free agency again soon.

With that said, they may have larger aspirations with a Herro deal. In that event, the Grizzlies may have another viable offer for the Heat.
