2. Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have continually made it known that they want to compete sooner rather than later. First, they traded away second-year guard Tyrese Haliburton — a young phenom on a current trajectory that should land him on multiple All-NBA teams — in exchange for a more established borderline All-Star in Domantas Sabonis.
Despite making that move, the Kings still failed to make the postseason in 2022. On the bright side, by falling short of the playoffs, Sacramento landed the fourth-overall pick.
With that selection, the King reiterated their desire to be a serious postseason team by passing on high-ceiling projects such as Jaden Ivey and Shaedon Sharpe in favor of a more seasoned and ready prospect in Iowa’s Keegan Murray.
Even with Sabonis, Murray, and their other offseason additions on board, the Kings will need additional upgrades if they want to be serious players in a loaded Western Conference.

One thing they’ll certainly need is more shooting around a star tandem that features the paint-inclined duo of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. They could acquire one of the best snipers in the league by trading for Doug McDermott.
The Kings have a small collection of deals set to expire at the end of the year, including young players Terence Davis and Chimezie Metu.
