Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Clint Capela
Atlanta Hawks Receive: C Myles Turner, G Terry Rozier
Indiana Pacers Receive: F/C John Collins
The Atlanta Hawks already made a sizeable splash this summer. They acquired star point guard Dejounte Murray in exchange for a haul of draft capital.
It was an interesting choice. On the one hand, the Hawks made a substantial talent upgrade by acquiring Murray. On the other hand, the fit with Young could be questionable.
Murray is one of the most well-rounded guards in the NBA. He has one hole in his game, and that hole is shooting. Unfortunately, that’s the only prerequisite skill to playing with Trae Young.
Now, the Hawks have a dilemma. They could put the ball in Murray’s hands and increase Young’s off-ball reps. Still, Young is better on the ball than Murray. Landing a stretch five like Turner isn’t a cure-all, but it at least mitigates the spacing concerns that come with Murray.
