Brooklyn Nets Receive: G Zach LaVine, F Patrick Williams, 2027 First-Round Pick (CHI), 2029 First-Round Pick (CHI)
Chicago Bulls Receive: F Kevin Durant
First, an important caveat: Zach LaVine signed a contract extension and is ineligible to be traded until the recently signed player restriction is lifted.
Since the Brooklyn Nets are going to take their time with the Kevin Durant trade sweepstakes, the Bulls could still be in the mix by the time LaVine is eligible to be traded again.
LaVine could benefit from a move of this nature. After all, being the best player on a New York team is a sound business decision.
Furthermore, the Nets will have every incentive to remain competitive with most of their future draft capital owed to the Houston Rockets through to 2027. Ben Simmons’ playmaking feels like a nice match with LaVine’s score-first mentality as well.
