Houston Rockets Receive: G/F Talen Horton-Tucker, G Kendrick Nunn, F Stanley Johnson, 2027 First-Round Pick (Top 10 Protected – LAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G/F Eric Gordon

Apparently, the Houston Rockets are seeking a first-round pick in exchange for Eric Gordon. That’s fair. He’s a solid veteran, and this rebuilding team needs to prioritize the draft.

With that said, it may be an optimistic evaluation of his value. It’s not outrageous, but Gordon isn’t exactly the type of star player who can fetch you whatever you might be looking for.

If we’re looking for precedent, the Pacers just received Boston’s unprotected 2023 first-rounder in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon. Surely, Brogdon has more trade value than Gordon. He’s four years younger, and at this stage in their respective careers, more productive.

Plus, the Rockets are already receiving Talen Horton-Tucker. He’s only 21, and he’s regarded by some as having enough potential to put his value alone at that of a first-round pick.
