Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal
Resoundingly, the answer is yes. This is a bit of a steal for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Harrison Barnes makes almost half of Tobias Harris’ salary. He’s also a roughly comparable player. Adding him in addition to Holmes would be a savvy move by this team’s front office.
After all, the Sixers have been looking for a viable backup big man for Joel Embiid for some time. Holmes would be an excellent choice. He’s a low-usage rim runner/rim protector who will keep the defense afloat when Embiid rests.
Frankly, the Sixers win this deal. They’re capitalizing on a desperate Kings organization. Harris for Barnes is a marginal upgrade, but the Sixers add two quality rotation players in this exchange.
