The Phoenix Suns are one of the teams that have been mentioned as being on Kevin Durant’s list of teams he would prefer to be traded to. At the end of the day, this very well could be the best spot for him and provide the Brooklyn Nets with the best return package.
Phoenix has all of their draft picks going forward in the first and second round, so the Suns can fulfill the amount that Brooklyn would be looking for. They also have players that the Nets would likely want to receive in return as well.
A Deandre Ayton sign-and-trade would make a lot of sense for both sides. Brooklyn would be entering a bit of a rebuild and Ayton is young enough to be a part of that, while also being experienced enough to help them remain competitive.
Players such as Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder can be used to help bridge the gap in salary or just improve the trade package. All three have been integral to the Phoenix Suns’ success in recent seasons and would help keep the Nets afloat as they adjust their expectations.
