Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets made it clear after they were eliminated from the postseason by the eventual champion Golden State Warriors that they wanted to upgrade the roster around the back-to-back MVP of the league, Nikola Jokic. They started that process by unloading Monte Morris and Will Barton to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith.
The Nuggets just made two selections in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft, so that can be used to sweeten a deal. The best thing that the Nuggets have going for them is that they have two borderline All-Stars in Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. that they can build a strong package around.
One of those two players can compensate for the lack of draft capital that Denver possesses. It is anyone’s guess if that is enough to pique the interest of Brooklyn, but from the Nuggets’ perspective, this is an opportunity to go all-in around Jokic.
Pairing him and Durant together with one of Murray or Porter would give the Denver Nuggets the most explosive offensive trio in the NBA. Teams would have no answer to them as they would be able to dominate inside and out.
