Isaiah Hartenstein
The center market has been robust this offseason. There are several players potentially available via trade, such as Rudy Gobert, Myles Turner and Clint Capela. The free-agent class is also pretty deep with Mitchell Robinson leading the way and Jusuf Nurkic available as well.
One player that is flying under the radar is Isaiah Hartenstein. What he was able to accomplish with the LA Clippers this past season is something that isn’t getting enough attention. After struggling to find consistent minutes his first three seasons in the league, Hartenstein was given a chance with the Clippers and made the most of it.
It was the first time he played more than 1,000 minutes in a season and if that was a sneak peek at what to expect, there is going to be a very happy team this offseason. Hartenstein averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.5 steals per 75 possessions. Those are numbers no one has ever exceeded throughout the course of a season.
Having a center that can be a playmaker is a luxury not many teams have and it would open up the court a lot. When that center shows signs of being a stretch-5, as Hartenstein knocked down 14-of-30 3-point attempts, you are really in business.
