Bruce Brown
The Brooklyn Nets avoided the Doomsday Scenario of losing both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, for now. They will have their work cut out for them rebuilding the roster around those two All-Stars and one player they should work hard to retain is Bruce Brown.
Brown has done a wonderful job recreating himself. After spending the first few seasons of his career as a guard, he transitioned to become more of a wing player. It better suited his skill set, as Steve Nash found something deploying Brown in the same fashion you would a big man.
Brown was used as a screener and rim runner, routinely exploiting defensive matchups. His experience as a lead ball-handler only makes him that much more unique, as he can fill pretty much any role that a team is looking for. It doesn’t hurt that he figured things out a little bit from 3-point range as well, connecting on 40.4 percent of his attempts, albeit on low volume.
Keeping defenses honest is all Brown has to do from the perimeter and he has proven he can do that. A jack-of-all-trades on offense, the Miami (FL) product is also a stout defender with multi-positional versatility.
