Patty Mills
Remember what we said about the fit between LeBron James and Russell Westbrook?
Much of it has to do with floor spacing. Westbrook’s inability to consistently knock down threes is well-documented. That’s a problem whenever LeBron James has the ball. Furthermore, generally speaking, LeBron James should have the ball.
Of course, James needs secondary ball handlers, but if they don’t compliment him when he’s running the show, they’re of limited value. It just so happens that Patty Mills would do exactly that.
In fact, from a pure fit perspective, the veteran floor general is perfect for the Lakers. He can be a playmaker when needed but is equally content to function as an off-ball threat. Furthermore, he’s a heady, impactful defensive guard.
