Washington Wizards Receive: F/C Jaren Jackson Jr., G/F Danny Green
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: G Bradley Beal
Poor Danny Green. Towards the end of last season, he tore his ACL and MCL. With his status for 2022-23 in question, he became a contract in the eyes of the Philadelphia 76ers. They used his salary to broker a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for De’Anthony Melton at the draft this year.
This deal finds him on the move again. In essence, this is a Jackson-for-Beal trade. Green is, once again, contract fodder.
If the Wizards were interested in dealing Beal this summer, Jackson Jr. would be a fantastic return. The 22-year-old has established himself as a great defensive player.
He’s an elite rim protector who can also survive switches. Couple that skillset with his floor-spacing, and you’ve got a perfect modern big.

So perfect, in fact, that the Grizzlies may not be willing to part with him. If they determine that Jackson Jr. is too important to their defensive scheme to spare, they may have another offer that would intrigue the Wizards.
