Recently, trade rumors proposing this package to the Jazz in exchange for Gobert have become fashionable. Still, it wasn’t long ago that everyone had Simmons joining Trae Young on the Hawks.
Could they still prefer Simmons?
He does fit the bill of a co-star more than Gobert. For all of his shortcomings, Simmons is a more dynamic offensive player due to his ball-handling and floor vision. If the Hawks would still favor the addition of Simmons, they should look to orchestrate this three-team blockbuster.
It’s hard to say what either of the Jazz or Nets will do this summer. They are both teams in compromised positions. It feels likely that the Nets will at least put the most competitive team they can together. The Jazz may do the same, or launch a rebuild.

Still, making a call to the brass in Brooklyn could help them avoid that route. Any one of these deals may allow them to maintain their spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
