Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers need viable rotation players, period. There is a surplus of star talent on this squad, but the roster thins out pretty badly after that.
That holds especially true with Danny Green looking to miss most, if not all, of 2022-23 with his own injury. Tim Hardaway Jr. could be a perfect candidate to slide into his role.
Granted, it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison. Hardaway Jr. is a fine defender, but he pales in comparison to Green on that end. On the other hand, he’s got a stronger capacity to hit tough shots. It could be a toss-up in terms of on-court production between the two.
Trading for Hardaway Jr. won’t fix all of the Philadelphia 76ers’ issues. They’ll need at least one more quality rotation player even after acquiring Hardaway Jr. Still, he moves the needle for a team with championship aspiration in 2022-23.

He’ll space the floor for Joel Embiid on the low block, and James Harden and Tyrese Maxey on the perimeter. Basically, Hardaway Jr. space the floor. The Philadelphia 76ers would be happy if he was doing it for them.
