Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, C Day’Ron Sharpe
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G D’Angelo Russell, G Malik Beasley
This trade has the Brooklyn Nets significantly beefing up their backcourt rotation. If they wanted to call it the best in the NBA, it would be hard to debate.
Keep in mind, that they’d still have Kyrie Irving on the roster. We know he can function as an off-guard because he effectively did so alongside James Harden. He’ll provide great value with his off-ball gravity when Russell is running the offense.
For that matter, so will Malik Beasley. He may be a less dynamic offensive threat than any of the other guards mentioned here, but he’s a lethal three-point shooter. He’d make a great addition to this squad.
With all of that said, we’re merely assuming that the Wolves would still be interested in Ben Simmons. After watching him stay on the sidelines with an ambiguous health issue in Brooklyn, they may not be.

In that event, these two teams should get on the phone with another squad that was heavily linked to Simmons leading up to last year’s deadline.
