After finishing second in NBA MVP voting and winning the scoring title, what is next for 76ers star, Joel Embiid? Well, the 28-year-old center is entering the prime of his career and is looking to take his game up another notch.

Embiid is looking to improve his “perimeter attacks and finishing with touch at the rim” according to The Ringer. It was also mentioned that Embiid wants to be able to bring the ball up the floor by himself.

If he can become a shot creator off the dribble that can help give him another way to beat his defender. He has already improved as a three-point shooter throughout his career but he must continue to adapt.

Anything that Embiid thinks can make him a more dominant player will be a plus for the Sixers. But, the most important factor for Embiid remains his health.

For the last few seasons, Embiid has been hurt at the end of the year. You could even see he was not himself in Philadelphia’s playoff loss to the Heat.

So durability should be another factor that Embiid needs to work on so he can be healthy for a deep playoff run. The Sixers have been unable to reach the conference finals with Embiid. They should do whatever it takes to capitalize on the prime of one of the best players in the history of their franchise.

It will be interesting to see how Embiid and James Harden operate in their first full season together. The chemistry of those two could be the main reason the Sixers either succeed or fail next season. The 76ers have far too much talent to not be a conference finals participant.
