Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Kyle Lowry, F Duncan Robinson, G Tyler Herro
Miami Heat Receive: G James Harden
So, about diversifying the Philadelphia 76ers’ roster… This trade doesn’t do that. In fact, it has the Heat sending three guards to Philly in exchange for Harden. Still, there are reasons this deal could appeal to the 76ers.
Specifically, it makes them younger and deeper. Duncan Robinson got played off the floor in this year’s playoffs. It’s hard to imagine his defensive shortcomings will bode any better in Philly. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry was extremely lackluster. It’s hard to say whether that was due to a hamstring injury or his advanced age (36).
Still, Robinson is one of the league’s best floor-spacers, and Lowry has a long track record of production. Odds are, at least one will pan out in the City of Brotherly Love.

Still, the Sixers are clearly most interested in Herro here. While Harden may be in decline, at 22, Herro should only be getting better.
In fact, if that age gap is too much for Heat to stomach, there may be another potential deal on the table.
