Kevin Love’s tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers has been fascinating to watch.

He was brought onto the team to complement LeBron James. It worked. The duo, alongside Kyrie Irving, won an NBA championship together. They made four straight Finals appearances. Together, they were wildly successful.

All good things come to an end. James left the Cavaliers, again. Kyrie was already gone. The Cavaliers extended Love anyway, making him the sole holdover from the best era in the team’s history.

Without his star teammates, Love looked like a fish out of water. Balls were thrown. Tantrums were had. His sizeable contract made him difficult to trade.
