Charlotte Hornets Receive: F/C Anthony Davis
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Terry Rozier, F Kelly Oubre Jr., C Kai Jones, No. 13 Pick In 2022 NBA Draft, 2025 First-Round Pick
In this trade scenario, the Charlotte Hornets use one of their other big contracts in Terry Rozier. With Miles Bridges expected to sign a max contract as a restricted free agent this offseason, Charlotte will look to move some of their long-term money.
Rozier recently signed an extension and has four years remaining on his deal. While he can be counted on to be available more than Hayward, he is who the Lakers target to bolster their own backcourt. If they are unable to move on from Russell Westbrook, Rozier is a solid complement alongside him with his 3-point shooting and defense.
Los Angeles takes a roster-wide approach with this trade package. Needing help basically everywhere, they land a versatile forward in Kelly Oubre Jr. and a young, albeit raw young big man in Kai Jones, who was selected in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.
Oubre can fill a similar role to what Kyle Kuzma did before he was traded to the Washington Wizards as part of the Westbrook deal. Jones’ athleticism could play well in the frontcourt as well, providing the Lakers with an above-the-rim option, similar to what they had with Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee when they won the championship.

The 13th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft is included, but since the Lakers aren’t taking as big of a risk with the players they are taking back, a future first-round pick is included instead. That would give the Lakers some more ammunition to swing another trade should the opportunity arise.
