The Los Angeles Lakers offseason has already seen their first big move, as Darvin Ham has been named the team’s next head coach. He will succeed Frank Vogel, who was fired at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season after three years on the job. Now, the Lakers remain a team to watch in NBA trade rumors.

Ham is taking over a team that fell woefully short of expectations this past season. Los Angeles finished with a record of 33-49, not even qualifying for the NBA Play-In Tournament. He will certainly have his work cut out for him.

Figuring out how to make their Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook click will be Ham’s top assignment. That is unless the front office can find a deal that includes trading one of them this offseason.

There have been mock trades and discussions involving all three All-Stars. Finding a team that would take on Westbrook is assuredly the most difficult given his contract and what seemed like declining play.
