Ranking 3 Best NBA Draft Landing Spots For Keegan Murray

Keegan Murray, NBA Draft
NBA Analysis Network

The 2022 NBA Draft has a number of intriguing prospects that could help teams not only build a foundation for the future but help them win some games immediately. One of those prospects is Keegan Murray out of Iowa.

The biggest knock against Murray right now very well could be his age. He will be 22-years old when the NBA season begins, which will knock him down a few pegs on some draft boards. However, if a slide begins, there will be a very happy team that will take full advantage.

There are some questions about whether his 3-point shooting stroke will play at the next level. He knocked down 39.8 percent of his attempts this past season but made only 29.6 percent his first season with the Hawkeyes.

Alas, those are really the most nitpicky things about his game. He can struggle at times against length, which he will see a ton of in the NBA. However, this is a kid who can just play the game of basketball at a high level.

He has an elite feel for the game and you never have to worry about him not hustling or giving effort. You don’t average 23.5 points per game by accident, as Murray has the skills to score from every level. His high IQ enables him to make an impact without the ball in his hands as a cutter and screener.

Defensively, he has the tools to turn into a very good stopper. He is versatile enough to defend wings and forwards and can even play some small-ball center in the right matchup.
