New York Knicks Receive: G Malcolm Brogdon
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: G/F Evan Fournier, F Cam Reddish, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 6 – IND), 2023 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2024 First-Round Pick (IND), 2026 First-Round Pick (IND)
Indiana Pacers Receive G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
There’s one thing we’re confident in regarding this deal: the Thunder would prefer it to the last one.
After all, they never had any incentive to acquire either of Hield or McConnell. They were in the previous package to make the money work. In the case of this deal, they’re both out of the picture.
That’s because neither would be enough to motivate the Knicks to part with their 2023 first-rounder and Reddish. Brogdon might be. He’s exactly the type of high-IQ floor general this group was sorely missing last season.
If the Knicks covet him, this trade may work for everyone. Otherwise, a similar framework might still be able to find Gilgeous-Alexander on the Indiana Pacers.
