Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: C Steven Adams, G/F Dillon Brooks, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 22 – UTA), 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2025 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2027 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Any package that could even tempt Thunder General Manager Sam Presti into moving Gilgeous-Alexander will have to include, at a minimum, four first-round picks.
If you haven’t heard, Presti loves first-round picks. He’s hoarded more of them than any general manager in NBA history. This deal finds him trading his star player for more.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies vault themselves into the serious title contender discussion here. A backcourt of Ja Morant and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would rank among the best in the NBA.
It won’t be the smoothest transition. They’re both best with the ball in their capable hands. Still, championship teams need more than one playmaker. If Morant and SGA can make it work, they’ll make it work incredibly well.

It’s worth the risk for the Grizzlies. However, the Thunder could decide they need more compensation for Gilgeous-Alexander. In that event, bringing a third team into the fold should help them receive it.
