The fallout of the Utah Jazz coming up short in the NBA playoffs once again is beginning to unfold. Quin Snyder stepped down as head coach and now, there is raised uncertainty about Donovan Mitchell’s future with the franchise.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Donovan Mitchel has been described as “unsettled, unnerved and wondering what it means for the franchise’s future.”

“Mitchell considered Snyder a significant part of his reasoning for committing to a five-year maximum contract extension in 2020, and Snyder’s decision to step away on Sunday has left Mitchell “surprised and disappointed,” sources told ESPN.”

“Mitchell remains fond of Snyder and accepts his reasons for stepping down, but he’s spending the immediate aftermath of Snyder’s decision trying to process what the coach’s loss means in the larger scope for the organization and himself, sources said.”

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Miami Heat More Likely To Trade For Donovan Mitchell Than New York Knicks

There’s been a few teams linked to Mitchell as a potential future landing spot more than others. The New York Knicks have long been considered a possible trade destination for the All-Star, but recently, the Miami Heat have been viewed as a more likely suitor.

Given the lack of success the Knicks have experienced last season, it’s easy to see why the Heat — coming off an Eastern Conference Finals appearance — would be considered the more likely possible trade suitor for the All-Star guard.
