Many hypothetical trade packages will be made this offseason to break up the All-Star duo of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. In this scenario, Utah decides to build around Mitchell, trading Gobert to the Brooklyn Nets. How did we get to this point?

For the Jazz, they have to make some sort of move and shake things up. They do just that in this scenario, as they acquire Ben Simmons and a first-round pick.

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Simmons, who didn’t suit up for a single second this season. As Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer shared, teams were hesitant to make strong offers before the deadline to the 76ers for Simmons. Given his current condition, there is even more confusion.

Some teams are even out on Simmons at this point as the risk is too much for the potential reward.
