Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Eric Bledsoe, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 7 – POR)
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: G D’Angelo Russell, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 19 – MIN)
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: F John Collins
This trade works for all parties if the Atlanta Hawks are as eager to shed John Collins’ contract as rumors would suggest. If they are, the Minnesota Timberwolves should be happy to take it off their hands.
After all, Collins gives them the floor-spacing 4 they didn’t put alongside Towns last season. Granted, he’s not as stout defensively as former starter Jarred Vanderbilt. Still, he’s solid on that end, and he’ll more than make up the difference on offense.
Finally, the Hawks nab an expiring contract and the seventh overall pick in the process. If they’re motivated to clear cap space, that’s no-brainer value for Collins.
In all likelihood, the Portland Trail Blazers won’t be seeking D’Angelo Russell this summer. Most expect them to pursue two-way wings to complement Lillard.

On the other hand, if they did want to continue leaning into what’s long been their guard-heavy identity, Russell could make for a tempting proposition.
