Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: C Nikola Vucevic, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 18 – CHI), 2024 First-Round Pick (Swap – CHI), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – CHI), 2027 First-Round Pick (CHI), 2028 First-Round Pick (Swap – CHI)
Chicago Bulls Receive: G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
This feels closer to a deal Sam Presti would be willing to strike.
Never mind Nikola Vucevic. This is an unfortunate scenario for the veteran big. That’s business in the NBA for you. In all likelihood, the Oklahoma City Thunder would sit him for most of the year as they sat Derrick Favors and Al Horford before him.
This one is all about the picks for OKC. The Bulls are making a serious sacrifice towards their future here. On the other hand, they’re acquiring a 23-year-old superstar.
At the same time, there is a downside here for the Thunder. The Bulls have a lot of outgoing picks as is. That’s why so many of these picks are swaps. Realistically, the Thunder would be lucky if any of them were conveyed to them.

If Presti sees that as too large a downside to overlook, maybe there’s an arrangement to be made here with a third team.
