Collin Sexton
Of all the targets on this list, Collin Sexton may be the least inspiring. On a related note, he’s likely to also be the cheapest.
After all, the Cleveland Cavaliers may have outgrown him. They just made a run to the play-in tournament while he was sidelined with an injury. The fit between him and Darius Garland was always questionable. With the growth Garland demonstrated this year, the Cavaliers would have to choose him if they felt forced to choose.
That doesn’t mean Collin Sexton is a scrub. In 2020-21, he averaged 24.3 points per game over 60 games. He’s also 23. As he approaches Restricted Free Agency, the Mavericks may be able to land Luka Doncic’s backcourt mate of the future at a discount in a sign-and-trade.
All things considered, it’s a good time to be a Dallas Mavericks fan. It’s hard to complain when you’ve got a top 5ish player who’s only 23.
