How This Trade Impacts Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers want to turn things around instantly. Bringing in established veterans to upgrade the roster around Damian Lillard is the plan this offseason and the No. 7 overall pick is their best trade asset.
In this scenario, they use it to land the versatile, two-way forward, OG Anunoby. They have been linked to the Detroit Pistons and Jerami Grant, but if a deal for Anunoby is on the table, that is where they should give their attention.
Anunoby would be an excellent fit alongside a backcourt of Lillard and Anfernee Simons. Some believe that he can have a similar career path as Kawhi Leonard, as he has a similar body type and skill set as a young Leonard.
Only turning 25-years old this summer, Anunoby would help the Trail Blazers win games now and be a piece for the future. If he did take that Leonard-type leap, Portland would be in business with a superstar.

Parting ways with the No. 7 overall pick would be tough, but no one that will be on the board at that spot will have a bigger impact on the Portland Trail Blazers this upcoming season than Anunoby will. With plans of competing as soon as possible again, this deal makes sense for the Trail Blazers.
