Making the Case: Utah Jazz
The relationship between Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert has been the focus of NBA trade rumors for the last few years. Looking beyond that, the lack of postseason success they have achieved could be the reason for a change.
Gobert is one of the best defensive players in the league. He is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate year in and year out because of his ability to protect the rim. However, he has legitimate limitations in his offensive skill-set that have been tough to overcome.
With Anthony Davis, the Jazz would gain a more offensive-minded center that can complement Mitchell on that end of the floor. When healthy, Davis is one of the best big men and continues to be a double-double machine that can rebound on both ends of the floor.
Davis is athletic enough to act as a pick-and-roll man with Mitchell and finish at the rim while being more talented than Gobert at making smaller players pay after switching occurs.

There are very few back-to-the-basket centers in the league today. Davis is a typical stretch five that can dominate in many ways. With a dynamic talent like Mitchell running the show, Davis could be a piece to help get Utah over the top.
