Good Option: Collin Sexton
This choice won’t be without controversy. There will inevitably be New York Knicks fans who aren’t thrilled with the notion of Collin Sexton running point for them in 2022-23.
Fair enough. In fact, it’s reasonable to question whether Collin Sexton is even a point guard. At 6’1, he’s point guard sized, but make no mistake: Sexton, like Quickly, has the mentality of a scorer.
On the other hand, it’s 2022. Positions are a thing of the past. If Sexton can stay healthy, the Knicks may not regret acquiring him through Restricted Free Agency this summer.
The last time we saw him healthy for the bulk of a season was 2020-21. That year, Collin Sexton averaged 24.3 reasonably efficient points and 4.4 assists per game. That’s clear-cut All-Star production. Frankly, the assist numbers weren’t even bad.

That holds doubly true when you consider that Randle will probably be this team’s primary playmaker anyway. With his ability to set up teammates from the 4 spot, acquiring a scorer to run point could make great sense for this Knicks squad.
