Indiana Pacers Receive: G Duncan Robinson, G Max Strus, 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: G Malcolm Brogdon
It’s hard to say what kinds of decisions the Indiana Pacers may make this summer.
On the surface, this team appears to be rebuilding. On the other hand, team president Kevin Pritchard would tell you otherwise. The Pacers may be tinkering, but if he’s to be believed, they’ve got no interest in a multiyear rebuild.
That checks out. The Pacers are a small market team. They may not be able to afford five years of bottom-dwelling. If they’re looking to stay as competitive as possible, this may not be the deal for them.
In the same breath, it just feels like they should be rebuilding. This team does not have the top-end talent to compete with the NBA’s elite. A little short-term pain could produce a considerable long-term gain for this organization.

If they’re able to stomach a few miserable years, this deal could be well worth the price of Malcolm Brogdon’s services.
