It feels a little crazy to say it, but it’s true: the Miami Heat may need a point guard this NBA offseason.

Granted, it’s to be determined. As it stands, this team is down 3-2 to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. If they come back to advance to the Finals, they may decide not to make any major changes this summer.

On the other hand, they may feel motivated to upgrade their roster if they fall to Boston. Most wouldn’t have pegged point guard as a position of weakness last summer when the Heat inked Kyle Lowry to a substantial contract.

It would be hard to say he’s lived up to it. Over the 2021-22 playoffs, Lowry is averaging 5.6 points and 4.3 assists per game.

If that’s so, the Heat could use an upgrade at his position. Malcolm Brogdon would be a great choice. Here’s a trade that has him taking his talents to South Beach.
