2. Mitchell Robinson
If the Dallas Mavericks are going to dip into the free-agent market, Mitchell Robinson is a center that they should have squarely on their radar. The fourth-year big man is just scratching the surface of his potential, as he entered the NBA as a raw prospect that has improved each season.
If the Mavericks are looking for someone in the mold of Tyson Chandler, they likely won’t find anyone as close to it as Robinson. The Louisiana native has game-breaking ability on the defensive end of the court.
Robinson has excelled playing in Tom Thibodeau’s scheme the last few seasons, showcasing just how good he is defensively. He is an excellent rim protector and patrols the paint with his improved defensive rebounding.
Mitchell Robinson can hold his own on the perimeter as well, long enough to recover and contest shots if someone gets past him and also block jump shots with regularity.

Offensively, you won’t get anything from Robinson outside of alley-oops and putbacks. But, Chandler didn’t have much of an offensive arsenal either and was still able to make a big impact on the game.
The New York Knicks and Mitchell Robinson seem to be very far apart in contract negotiations and it seems likely that he will test the market. Dallas should aggressively pursue him to bolster their center position if the Knicks don’t re-sign him.
