Zach LaVine is the player that the Knicks should have been targeting for years now. The Chicago Bulls seemed to be shopping LaVine some while they were rebuilding. That was put on hold this season as the Bulls took a step forward in the Eastern Conference.
Now, LaVine is preparing to enter free agency and the Knicks should be all in.
There are not many better than LaVine on the offensive end of the floor. He is a true scorer in every sense of the word. LaVine has averaged 19.8 points per game since coming into the league and that number has gone up in Chicago.
Over the last four years, LaVine is averaging at least 23 points per contest. That number includes 27.4 per night last season and 24.4 per game this year.

The Bulls might be interested in a sign-and-trade deal involving LaVine if he does not want to stick around. The emergence of DeMar DeRozan for the Bulls is also a factor as the team continues to build a winner. For the Knicks, LaVine is the star that they have needed.
New York does not have a player that can take over a game offensively. That is LaVine. He is the prototypical scorer in the league and likes the big moment at the end of the game. If there is a player that can help the Knicks take the next step, LaVine should be at the top of the list.
