The Utah Jazz are at the point of needing to undergo significant change after being eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks. Now, one star from the Jazz duo might be next. If Rudy Gobert is the piece, they could get creative with how they reconfigure the roster around Donovan Mitchell going forward.
It would be risky, but Ben Simmons has shown that he cannot score the ball at a high level. Unless he made some significant improvements from the outside, this is likely the case.
The good news is that Utah would not need Simmons to take on an essential offensive role. Mitchell continues to be one of the best point guards in the league, and this would benefit Simmons.
