This is the nuclear option for the Los Angeles Lakers. They’re moving on from both Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook to put an entirely different supporting cast around LeBron James. It’s hard to say whether it’ll work, but it’s easy to say the roster they currently have won’t.
The Hornets get involved to add an expiring contract, a young player with potential, and a first-round pick. That feels like an appropriate haul for Hayward and Rozier. Rumors suggesting Westbrook and a pick for those two are common, but adding Reddish makes the endeavor particularly worth their while.
Finally, the New York Knicks land Anthony Davis. They’re taking a calculated risk in doing so. If he can be the version of himself he was two seasons ago, they’re getting the best player in this deal.
