Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets finished 2021-22 with the worst record in the NBA for the second consecutive season. So, how is it that optimism seems to surround this club?
Well, the answer probably begins and ends with Jalen Green. He struggled throughout his rookie campaign, but he certainly capped it off with an exclamation point. Whenever a 19-year-old posts the most 30-point games in a row for a rookie since Allen Iverson, it begets optimism.
Still, this team’s future would look a lot brighter with De’Andre Hunter in it. Like the Pacers, they’re painfully light on 3-and-D wing players.
At 24, he’s still young enough to fit the Rockets’ timeline. At the same time, he’d be something of an elder statesman among their core group. That’s fine. Having a player with a little NBA experience should be a benefit to the Rockets’ youth movement.
