Buddy Hield
This is not the first time that the Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to Buddy Hield. The Sacramento Kings were shopping Hield for quite some time and he was eventually sent to the Indiana Pacers. Los Angeles seemed to be a potential destination at the deadline and can be once again this offseason.
The Lakers ranked 22nd in the league this season shooting 34.7% from three-point range. It is a number that fell as the season went on and will have to improve next season. In today’s NBA, a team has to have legitimate shooters along the perimeter. For the Lakers, acquiring Westbrook did not help this area of their game.
LeBron James has enjoyed the luxury of having shooters on the perimeter over the course of his career. The style works well because of his ability to get in the lane and kick the ball out.
Buddy Hield has two years left on his contract where he is owed upwards of $38 million — taking us cap spending room that the Pacers could be looking to clear. If this is the case, the Lakers should be on the phone this time around for Hield.

Los Angeles needs to do what it takes to return to the postseason next season after the debacle that the 2021-22 season was. Improving their three-point shooting should be at the top of the list for the front office.
