Utah Jazz Receive: F Tobias Harris, G Tyrese Maxey, 2023 First-Round Pick (POR), 2024 First-Round Pick (PHI), 2026 First-Round Pick (CHI)
Chicago Bulls Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Zach LaVine (Sign & Trade)
This trade only works if Zach LaVine specifically likes the idea of playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. He’d have to agree to a sign-and-trade.
Let’s pretend that’s true. This is a great deal for all three teams. The Utah Jazz get the best possible offer they’ll receive for Mitchell. They land a potential star in the 21-year-old Maxey and three first-round picks in addition. This trade gets their rebuild off to a tremendous start.
In fact, losing Maxey stings for the Sixers. They may not be willing to do it. On the other hand, we know Daryl Morey is a star chaser.
It’s also fair to assume that, as sensational as Maxey is, LaVine will be better in 2022-23. With a narrow championship window, the 76ers may be inclined to flip him for a player who’s already in their prime.

Meanwhile, the Bulls don’t miss a beat, swapping LaVine for Mitchell. They’re almost identically valuable players. LaVine is a little more athletic, and Mitchell is a little craftier. The end result is extremely similar: about 25 points per game on comparable efficiency.
The Bulls will take that from whichever player is willing to give it to them.
