Utah Jazz Receive: G Luke Kennard, F Marcus Morris Sr.
LA Clippers Receive: G Mike Conley, F Juancho Hernangomez
This deal is really just Conley-for-Kennard. The two veteran forwards are salary matches.
It feels like a fair deal for both sides. Kennard enjoyed a strong 2021-22 season. The fifth-year guard averaged 11.9 points per game while shooting 44.9% on 6.0 attempts per contest.
The LA Clippers will miss his spacing. Luckily, Conley makes up a nice portion of it while providing significantly more playmaking. The Clippers need his ability to facilitate. This trade makes them better in the short term, and when you roster Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, that’s your top priority.
Meanwhile, the Jazz acquire a much younger player in Kennard from the Clippers. The 34-year-old Conley isn’t likely to fetch them much more.

If they’re bottoming out, the Jazz may be able to afford Kennard a larger slice of their offensive pie than he’s received with the Clippers.
By the time they’re reading to compete again, he’ll be waiting as an ideal floor spacing guard.
