At this point, the Utah Jazz might have to decide soon on how they are going to build their roster ahead of the action of the NBA offseason.

The Jazz were eliminated in the first round of this year’s postseason. It was yet another early exit for the Jazz and they will now face a decision in the offseason — Donovan Mitchell or Rudy Gobert.

For the sake of argument, let’s assume that the Jazz decided to roll with Mitchell. The NBA is guard-driven, and the Jazz have one of the most dynamic at the position in the league. Their premier defender down low might be on the trading block.

Gobert is a candidate to win Defensive Player of the Year on an annual basis. He has solidified himself as an elite rim protector that can also score around the rim, but that is not as valuable around the league as it used to be.
