Brooklyn Nets Receive: C Nikola Vucevic, G Lonzo Ball, F Isaiah Livers
Detroit Pistons Receive: F Joe Harris, F Patrick Williams, 2022 First-Round Pick (PHI via BKN)
Chicago Bulls Receive: G Kyrie Irving, F Jerami Grant
Talk about a blockbuster.
The Chicago Bulls probably make the highest risk/reward calculation with this trade. If Irving is reliably available to them throughout 2021-22, they could make a serious bid for the NBA title next season. Provided Zach Lavine resigns and DeMar DeRozan doesn’t suffer any major regression, their offense should be explosive.
Meanwhile, the Nets may lose the deal in terms of pure value, but they still have incentives to make this deal. Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic are both going to show up and work as long as their bodies allow them to. Furthermore, they streamline this Brooklyn offense. They’re each complementary pieces to Kevin Durant and Simmons, but they can carry the offense for stretches as well.
As for the Pistons, they finally execute a Jerami Grant trade. Packages landing them Williams in exchange for the veteran were popular around the trade deadline. He’s a perfect piece to pair with franchise player Cade Cunningham moving forward.

Onlookers should probably expect Kyrie Irving to suit up for the Brooklyn Nets next season. Still, the NBA, like Irving himself can be wildly unpredictable.
