Utah Jazz Receive: F JaMychael Green, 2023 Second-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick
Denver Nuggets Receive: F Royce O’Neale
Admittedly, we may be stretching the definition of “bold” on this one.
Neither of the players involved here is a household name, but they’re both valuable contributors. With this deal, the Nuggets make a marginal upgrade by plugging O’Neale into Green’s role.
It’s a convenient trade for the Nuggets. O’Neale and Green are similar players. They’re both veteran 3-and-D wings. It just so happens that O’Neale is a little better.
In 2021-22, he shot 38.1% from deep compared to Green’s 36.6%. He also posted a Defensive Box Plus/Minus (DBPM) of 2.0, compared to Green’s -0.4. He’s just a little better, but that could make a big difference for the Nuggets.

This deal only happens if the Utah Jazz are hosting a firesale. After such a disappointing 2021-22 season, that feels like a likely outcome.
