Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G John Wall, 2022 First-Round Pick (HOU), 2023 First-Round Pick (MIL), 2024 First-Round Pick (BKN), 2026 First-Round Pick (BKN), 2028 First-Round Pick (HOU)
Houston Rockets Receive: C Karl-Anthony Towns, F Josh Okogie
As a quick aside, it is hard to believe that Wall’s contract is so expensive that we needed to include Okogie to make the money work here. He is, by far, the highest-paid assistant coach in NBA history.
He’s also an expiring contract after this season. More importantly, he’s immaterial to this deal. The Wolves are in this one for a bounty of first-round picks.
One of those picks is top-5 guaranteed for this upcoming draft. The rest of them are unknown properties. Still, they’re valuable chips for a club looking to reset.
Between all those first-round selections, the Wolves would be in a prime position to build a team around Edwards.

As for the Houston Rockets, this is not a risk-free proposition. They’d better hope Towns is able to facilitate more winning in Space City than he has in Minnesota so far. They’re trading their entire future here.
In fact, it might be too dangerous for them. If that’s how their front office feels, there could be another proposal that works for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
