Firstly, He’s a Los Angeles native. There has to be some appeal for him in a homecoming. More importantly, this Clippers team feels tailor-made for him. Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George could form a superteam for the ages.
Those defensive limitations we outlined become a non-factor with the Clippers. That’s the benefit of sharing the floor with two of the best two-way wings in the NBA. The fact that each is a lethal second offensive option is a massive bonus.
We saw Harden team with a platoon of 3-and-D wings in Houston. It was a wildly successful formula. Now, imagine if two of those wings doubled as elite shot creators with the Clippers?
