Detroit Pistons Receive: F Joe Harris, G Cam Thomas, F Day’Ron Sharpe, 2027 FIrst-Round Pick (PHI)
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F Jerami Grant
Poor Joe Harris. We keep trading him to rebuilding teams. It’s nothing personal. The elite sharpshooter’s contract happens to be the only sizeable, easily moved, non-essential pact on Brooklyn’s books.
Here, they’re giving up a little more to get a little more. Jerami Grant is certainly a better option than either of the players they’d be receiving from the Rockets.
The versatile wing has practically had two NBA careers. His first was as a defensive-minded utility wing on the Denver Nuggets. His second has been as a primary option for the Detroit Pistons. In Brooklyn, he’d likely split the difference as a third option who gives the team a defensive boost.
This feels like a nice haul for the Pistons too. Cam Thomas had a nice rookie year. He profiles as a microwave scorer in this league for time to come.

Day’Ron Sharpe didn’t have as much room to strut his stuff, but with a good combination of mobility and size, he still has potential. Those two, along with a future first-round pick, should be enough for the rebuilding Pistons to part with Grant.
Each of these deals would improve the Nets, but if they’re looking to make a bigger splash, that might be a possibility.
