Utah Jazz Receive: G Collin Sexton (Sign & Trade), G Caris LeVert, 2024 First-Round Pick (CLE), 2026 First-Round Pick (CLE)
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
If the last deal could be described as a modest upgrade, this one is a full-blown blockbuster.
If the Utah Jazz are forced to deal Donovan Mitchell, it’s hard o imagine what they’ll want back. A typical NBA franchise may want a boatload of draft picks. The Utah Jazz are not a typical NBA franchise.
They’re a small market club and they know it. As such, they’re often hesitant to destroy and rebuild. This deal allows them to flip Mitchell for a similar, younger player in Sexton. They’re also getting LeVert and a couple of first-round picks in the process.
Of course, this deal is less realistic than the others proposed here. It’s not entirely out to lunch either. If the Cavs wanted to, they could present Utah with a very appealing package for Mitchell. They may even consider adding an extra pick to grease the wheel if necessary.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Collin Sexton Reveals Thoughts On Staying With Cleveland Cavaliers
If anything held them back, it might be Mitchell’s rumored interest in landing in a bigger market. Cleveland does not qualify.
On the other hand, if they think winning is a higher priority for Spida, they shouldn’t hesitate. After acquiring his services, they’d be likely to win a lot.
